Evian les Bains is known from the Evian spring water (since 1789) and one of the oldest spas in France. It is located at 374 meters altitude on the French side (south bank) of Lake Geneva at the foot of the Alps. The lake is the largest and perhaps the cleanest lake in central Europe. The king of Savoie was already living in Evian.
